You're Not Bad at Sales. You're Just Not Designed to Force It.

Most people are doing sales completely backwards.
And if you have this channel, forcing it will never work for you.
I have the Sales and Marketing Channel. At least that’s what I call it. In Human Design it’s called the Channel of Surrender. It’s formed with Gate 44 in the Splenic Center and Gate 26 in the Heart Center.

If you don’t have this channel, that doesn’t mean you’re not meant to be in sales. There are other gate combinations that make us powerful at sharing products, services, and ideas. And this channel does not automatically give us an edge. As with any of the 64 gates or 36 channels, we can operate in the shadow, which works against us.
However, if you have this channel or either of these gates, or know someone who does, here’s how this actually works.
With Gate 44, this is a gate of deep pattern recognition. It’s called the Gate of the Pattern Interruptor. This gate lives in the Splenic Center, which is the center for intuition. It’s the most primitive of all the centers. Think cave man days. It senses danger immediately. It just knows.
So when we tap into our intuition, it tells us immediately who is right for us and who is not. What spaces are right. What opportunities are right.
With this center defined, when it comes to sales, we intuitively sense who needs what we have to offer and who is not aligned. We can feel when something is off with people or opportunities, and we can feel when there is a true connection.
Before I understood this, I would go straight to my logical brain and talk myself into or out of what I was sensing. I knew when something was right or not, and I convinced myself I couldn’t possibly know that fast.
YES, WE CAN!
So I bypassed my knowing and got involved in opportunities and relationships that were not aligned, and I paid for it later. And those consequences are not subtle.
Then there’s Gate 26, the Gate of the Sacred Salesperson. This gate holds the Shadow of Pride and the Gift of Artfulness.
I have this as my Gate of Attraction, which means when I’m in the shadow, I attract misaligned relationships, and when I’m in the gift, I attract deeply aligned ones.
The shadow here is Pride, which shows up as the fear of how we will be perceived. Because it sits in the Heart Center, it is tied to willpower. So we overuse willpower to get things done.
Instead of trusting our authority, we push. We chase. We override.
And that leads to stress, burnout, and disconnection.
This was my pattern for a long time.
The shift happens when we release the need to be everything for everyone. We are not for everyone, and everyone is not for us.
We don’t need to mask, people please, chase, convince, oversell, or over-explain.
We step into who we are. Fully.
And from that place, the right people find us, and the wrong ones fall away. This is energetic truth. It also requires far less energy to attract aligned clients than to manage misaligned ones.
You can feel the difference immediately.
The gift of this gate is Artfulness, what I call sacred marketing of the heart.
When we are aligned, we move from the heart. And from that place, we know that what we offer is exactly what the other person needs.
We communicate in a way that lands. We speak the language they are already ready to hear. We offer value without pressure.
Words flow. It feels clean. It feels true.
There is no force in it.
Now, this doesn’t have to be about selling a product. You can be sharing an idea, a movement, or even reflecting people back to themselves.
That’s how this works for me.
With aligned clients, it’s effortless to show them what I see in them. There is no efforting. It’s just truth. And they feel it.
One important piece with this channel is that we must be fully sold on what we are offering.
If I don’t believe in what I’m sharing, it will either feel off or I simply won’t be able to continue. I’ve experienced this multiple times. Something I was fully behind, and then suddenly, I wasn’t.
And when that happens, I’m done.
There is no willpower strong enough to override that shift. It can feel destabilizing, and staying becomes intolerable.
So if you find yourself in that place, it’s not something to fix. It’s something to honor.
When you are no longer aligned, you will not be able to convince yourself or anyone else. And the energy it takes to try is not worth it.
In conclusion, this channel gives us a unique gift in working with people. We can present ideas, products, and opportunities in a way that feels natural and received.
We are not here to hold back when we are aligned. We are here to share when there is interest.
We communicate differently than those without this channel. We carry the gift of persuasion through artfulness, and it only works when there is openness on the other side and alignment within us.
You may also notice you are not designed for rigid work structures. Freedom matters. And you can often complete things faster than others. There is a natural resilience here.
When we are in the shadow, we override our authority and move in the wrong direction without realizing it. We can push too hard, or we can hold back completely.
We may feel the nudge to share something valuable, and we stay quiet because of what people might think.
So come back to your intuition. It’s already there.
Stay out of the mental loop and trust your authority to guide you to the right people, at the right time, with the right message.
